Every meal matters.
Help us replace $200,000 in food lost to federal cuts.
Starting in April, The Food Depot will no longer receive a portion of our USDA TEFAP food. Specifically, food from the CCC program. This change means we are losing $200,000 worth of expected deliveries over the next few months, including dairy, protein, and other healthy foods that were supposed to arrive this spring.
We were counting on this food. But with your help, we can still provide for our communities. Your gift today helps replace those missing deliveries and ensures people across Northern New Mexico continue to have access to consistent, nourishing food.
Thanks to a generous donor, every dollar you give will be matched, up to $20,000!
Because no one should miss a meal when we can come together to help.

Where does The Food Depot get their food?

To keep healthy food moving across Northern New Mexico, The Food Depot relies on a mix of sources:
🍊20% is donated food from grocery stores and community partners.
🫑50% is food we purchase, using about $5 million of our $12 million annual budget.
🍅30% comes from TEFAP, a federal program that supplies food through the USDA. TEFAP stands for The Emergency Food Assistance Program.
Within that 30% TEFAP supply, a large portion (CCC food) was expected this spring. But that food is no longer coming. This is a big deal. We are now facing a loss of $200,000 worth of food, or about 10% of our overall supply. Your support helps us make up that difference and keep food moving across New Mexico.
